Principal, Financial Communications, Teneo Blue Rubicon
Charles Armitstead started his career at Financial Dynamics (now FTI) in the late 1990's and has advised some of the UK’s leading companies on their capital market communications. He has also worked on a number of landmark transactions including: Kingfisher’s demerger of Woolworth’s, Carnival Corporation's £3.5bn acquisition of P&O Princess, BASF’s $3.4bn acquisition of Ciba Holding AG, and HEINEKEN’s £3.5bn acquisition of Scottish & Newcastle and $4.6bn acquisition of Asia Pacific Breweries.
From 2005, Mr. Armitstead spent two years in New York advising U.S. listed companies, as well as multi-national, dual-listed clients. He has also lived in Washington D.C., where he worked in the public affairs arena. In the wake of the 2008 financial crisis, he advised on numerous capital restructurings, working with companies such as Dubai World, RUSAL, Endemol and Stemcor through their negotiations with lenders. He has also advised large European-based businesses such as Ahold, DSM and HEINEKEN, helping them to expand their profile on the international stage.
In 2011, he co-founded Pendomer Communications, which became one of the leading advisors to the FTSE 250, as well as to several international businesses before being acquired by Teneo in 2015. At Teneo Blue Rubicon, Mr. Armitstead is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Financial Communications Practice.
