Richard Mgrdechian is a highly experienced financial, restructuring and management professional with nearly 20 years of accomplishments in operational and distressed situations, with a strong focus on aerospace & defense, technology, consumer electronics, media and telecommunications. His extremely diverse combination of financial, operational, strategic and analytical abilities makes him especially qualified to engineer solutions to complex problems on behalf of top organizations.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Mgrdechian has held positions as an investor in distressed securities, a distressed securities analyst at Bear Stearns, a member of the restructuring team at The Blackstone Group, and managing director of a boutique corporate finance and operations advisory firm focused on technology and consumer electronics. He has performed numerous analyses of distressed situations, bankruptcies and Chapter 11 reorganizations, advised clients in multiple financial, operational and strategic issues, assisted several companies in the implementation of their turnaround plans and been involved in the restructuring of significant amounts of bank debt, bonds, trade payables and other corporate liabilities.

In addition to his work in the financial industry, he was the founder and CEO of two Silicon-Valley companies in the areas of telecommunications and social networking, the second of which was acquired by Yahoo, where elements of the Java/J2ME based software he developed (US Patent Number 7,545,784) – integrating cellular, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi technology – were incorporated into their next-generation mobile offerings.

Mr. Mgrdechian was most recently the founder and CEO of Purple Eagle Entertainment. As CEO of Purple Eagle, he conceived, created, built and managed the nationally known patriotic rock band, Madison Rising, which has performed at nearly 200 events, including NFL half-time shows, NASCAR, Sturgis and other major venues, and opened for rock legends Aerosmith, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Steppenwolf, Kansas, Weezer, Toby Keith, Ted Nugent, Trace Adkins and others. The band has an especially strong following in the military and veteran communities.

Prior to his work in finance, Mr. Mgrdechian was an engineer at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) where he analyzed electronic parts reliability and quality assurance issues for spacecraft systems, and was a member of design team for the Cassini mission to Saturn.

Mr. Mgrdechian holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), and an MBA from Columbia University.
