Managing Director

Tayo Famakinwa is a Managing Director with Teneo Consulting. Mr. Famakinwa began his career as a business process specialist working in a large-scale healthcare organization. After leaving healthcare, Mr. Famakinwa began his work in corporate advisory services focusing initially on business process optimization, advising senior clients at leading FS organizations. Mr. Famakinwa has over 12 years of industry experience consulting global organizations in business transformations including: new business launch, outsourcing, technology, cost-reduction, post-merger integration, spin-offs, and operating model implementation.

At Teneo, Mr. Famakinwa’s clients span a number of industries including: retail, gaming, auto, FS, and CPG. Recently, Mr. Famakinwa has been a lead member of teams managing the spin out of Conduent from Xerox and leading a large scale operational turnaround and cost takeout at a $15B+ retailer.

Mr. Famakinwa joined Teneo in 2014. Prior to joining Teneo, Mr. Famakinwa was with Accenture in its Capital Markets Practice, where he managed delivery work streams in support of large-scale client transformation initiatives across investment banking, insurance, private wealth management, and ratings agencies. His practice work focused in the areas of data management, operations, sales process effectiveness and enablement, customer experience redesign and digital transformation, client journey mapping, and operating model analysis/redesign. He also supported the Capital Markets Practice as a contributor to the Digital Transformation working group and as Chicago lead of several employee resource groups.

Before joining Accenture, Mr. Famakinwa worked for Chicago-based Advanced Objects, Inc., a proprietary technology development and financial services consulting firm, where he served as a senior consultant, managing client delivery in e-business and marketing. Previously, Mr. Famakinwa was a Process Specialist working in the office of the Chief of Emergency Medicine at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.

Mr. Famakinwa holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and neuroscience from Duke University in North Carolina. Mr. Famakinwa, a native Chicagoan, currently resides in New York with his wife and son, where he continues to contribute to the Chicago Cares Foundation and serves on the Young Alumni Development Council and New York Board Executive Committee for Duke University.
